Fees 2024/2025

You can pay fees and tuition directly to Metropolitan International School via:

• Wire bank transfer (yearly, 1/2 yearly discount available)
• Monthly payment Direct Debit (SEPA, monthly)
• (Online payment option coming soon)

School fees are payable at least a month in advance of the beginning of the relevant term and may be reviewed annually. Fees are payable in following options:

• Yearly Payment 2% off
• Semester Payment 1% off
• Monthly payment Direct Debit 

Half of the contributions paid by parents are allotted to the school fees, the other half to the mentoring of the students. In accordance with current tax laws, this means: 30% of the school fees, 5.000€per child at most, are tax reducible as special expenses for parents. For children who are not 14 years old yet, and who have both parents working, parents can claim 2/3 (two thirds) of the mentoring costs, 4.000 € at most, as tax allowable expenses or deduction from taxable income. This information is given as endorsement without recurs, and in accordance with the best of our knowledge. Furthermore, we suggest you contact your tax advisor.

Students who speak at a B2 Level of German or higher may qualify for a German Tuition fee reduction. If you have questions or believe you may qualify, please email for additional information. 

We do get requests often from extremely deserving students around the world, and we wish we could say yes to them all!

It is important to note that we are a non-profit organization, and therefore have limited ability to provide financial assistance or scholarships. That said, each year we do have some opportunity to support a few deserving students.

Financial Assistance Review Process

To be considered for a partial scholarship on annual tuition, we require the following:

    1) The student’s tests show them to be extremely gifted academically (this generally means more than achieving top    scores on a report card); AND

     2) Both parents submit their most recent tax return, demonstrating that they are not able to financially support the costs.

Based on this information, if you qualify for financial support and we have availability to offer a space, the tuition fee offered is on a sliding scale based on your combined income.

Please be aware that all financial information is strictly confidential within our financial office only.

Please note that if your financial assistance is approved, it will apply to the current academic year only, and you will need to apply the following year for further assistance if needed.

We have four Nursery / Preschool locations - Geneva, Heidelberg, Mannheim and Viernheim. Each location serves unique age groups, and has different fees. You can find more details on each location below.

Please note: The Application Fee (100 €) will be counted towards your Registration Fee upon sign up.  * Also, the Nursery / Preschool Registration Fees will be counted towards the MIS Primary School Registration Fee.  

Please note:  These fees includes breakfast, lunch and snacks. Fees are based on a 12 month contract. Emergency care is also available. 

Please Note: Children attending the Viernheim Nursery / Preschool must be potty trained prior to attending.
