A little about me:
Hello! I'm Zoe Lilley, originally hailing from Scotland. At 18, I made the move to London, where fate had it that I would meet my husband. Together, we have been blessed with two beautiful daughters. My educational journey began with a passion for music, eventually leading me to pursue a career as an early years teacher. Over the years, I dedicated myself to primary teaching in London before embarking on an international adventure. In 2008, we relocated to Holland, and I found a fulfilling role at an International School in Enschede. The path continued, and in 2012, we settled in the charming city of Regensburg, Germany. There, I had the privilege of serving as a Kindergarten Leader and teacher at the Swiss International School Kindergarten for five years. Outside of work, my heart lies in the pages of a good book, the tunes of music, and cherishing precious moments with my beloved family.

A little about me:
Hello, my name is Anoushka Imo. I was born and raised in London, UK. After completing my Bachelor Degree in Education and Literature (UK), I completed my Masters in Economics and Politics at Sydney University (Australia). From there I headed to Oslo, Norway, where I had the blessing of working at an International School, as a Early Years/Primary School Teacher. When I returned to England, I worked as an Education Consultant and then as Director of Admissions for an international school in London. Love and my German husband brought me eventually to Germany and after 4 children (2 are twins!) and many years, I am happy to call Germany my home. I have first-hand experience of moving with small children and have worked on all sides of the process. I am happy to support you in your child's integration into MIS Mannheim and welcome you warmly to our wonderful community.
MIS Overview
MIS Mannheim provides full-day education and care from 7:00 until 18:00 (7pm to 6pm). Our Mannheim campus consists of the Nursery (children 10 months to 3 years) and the Preschool and Kindergarten (children 3 to 6 years).
The MIS Early Learning program focuses on inspiring a love of learning for a lifetime. We help identify strengths of each child, supporting them individually in their unique learning processes. We encourage learning through joyful, age appropriate activities in order to keep all children highly motivated.
Our experienced staff is also focus on teaching valuable social skills to help prepare our little learners for the next phase of school and beyond. Through our many years of experience, we have had the honor of witnessing our young learners use these basic skills learned to continue their growth and curiosity, and develop into productive and compassionate global citizens.
Language Immersion
We are a trilingual nursery - German, English and Spanish. We follow the internationally successful Immersion Method, and our preschool program meets the requirements of the Cambridge International Education Curriculum as well as the Baden-Württemberg education plan. We have highly motivated and academically trained native speaking teachers who implement our MIS concept. This provides children with a sense of security and builds confidence.
Music
To support our language immersion program, we also expose children at every age to a variety of music, and feel this is a necessity for their quickly developing brain. Our little learners have the opportunity to sing and play with instruments with specialized teachers and musicians to help them learn the sounds and meanings of words, as well as to have great fun while learning! We provide multiple opportunities for music engagement, as research supports that music ignites all areas of child development and skills for school readiness such as intellectual, social and emotional skill, motor skills, language development and overall literacy.
We would like to invite you, along with your child, to explore the exciting world of our MIS Mannheim nursery, kindergarten and preschool!
Early Learning Curriculum
In the first few years of learning, we focus on the personal development of the child and initial contact for foreign language. In addition, the following skills will be developed:
- At least two languages (German, English, Spanish)
- Gross and fine motor skills development
- Social skills
- Learning music and songs
- Acquisition of words, syllables, letters, quantities, numbers, colors and shapes
- Recognition of and writing of one's name
- Playful scientific learning projects in English and German
In the preschool year, the focus is also autonomous action and the additional appropriation of cognitive abilities. A variety of methods are employed to insure the childrens' learning styles are accommodated. Our school's goal is for children to meet the Cambridge curriculum by the end of Preschool Kindergarten Year Stage 1, which also give them an opportunity to join our Primary and Secondary international school in Viernheim.
We believe that communication with family is important as this stage of learning. We aim to have on-going communication with our families through regular documentation, the creation of a portfolio, and scheduled parent-teacher conferences.
