Academic Clubs

Updated November 2021:  Academic clubs offer students another way of being engaged outside of the regular classroom setting, and often helps students learn a skill that becomes invaluable in their future, supporting interests such as career fields, technology and special interests.

We currently have Chess, Debate and Computer Club taking place!

Participation also helps students meet more like-minded friends, learn about topics that interest them, and looks great on college admissions, scholarship and job applications, as it shows that students are engaging in new opportunities.

Academic clubs also open doors for fun field trips, volunteer opportunities and working closely with mentors who offer invaluable knowledge and expertise.

MIS Sports

Updated November 2021:  We are excited to start our recreational sports camps again soon! Most sports activities are held in either our large sports gymnasium, or our NEWLY completed outdoor sports field, thanks to a generous donation from the Uhrig family!

Our MIS Sports Program includes archery (NEW), fußball, basketball, parkour, tennis and sometimes yoga.  We hope to get all of these started again soon.

Currently, archery is active and we are taking names of interested students for fußball and dance (if that's you, please email your student's name, grade and interest to

We also partner with sports organizations in the area for tennis, hockey and swimming. Coaches will come to the school or have nearby facilities for children to learn these sports from the ground up. (We are currently in a holding pattern with our partners due to our Covid-19 hygiene plan.)

In addition to recreational sports, we also have a number of students who compete in club sports at a high level including fußball/soccer, hockey, swimming and horseback riding. Teachers work closely with students and parents so that children can still participate in regular practices and it doesn't impact their academics.

If you are a student athlete and are looking for more information about how MIS can support this, please email us at
